Those Stormy Banks

"Cool"

submission: Those Stormy Banks
date: December 18, 2008

Sounds pretty cool. It really gets going around 2:17, before that it is a little thin. That doesn't equate to not good automatically, though. It's just that before that point, it's more environmental, and after that point the drums come in more and you get the strings.

GIO

"Not bad techno"

submission: GIO
date: December 18, 2008

It's not so cluttered like a lot of other techno music out there. Sounds like something that would be great for a secret DDR song or something.

Glade Ephemeral

"Excellent"

This is a great ambient piece. Would love to use this if I worked with flash. I also love the sound effects.

You put this whole thing together very well, kudos.

NH22 - Isotope

"Good one"

submission: NH22 - Isotope
date: December 6, 2008

Sounds like it should be in DDR...one of those Challenge-only songs. XD

Anyways, I like what you've done here. I don't really have any advice on how it could be made better. Good job.

Attention Deficit

"Me likey"

A good, solid, metal piece. The guitar seems a bit muddled with the drums, maybe bring it out a bit, but that's really all I can say.

All Night party 12

"It's good..."

submission: All Night party 12
date: December 6, 2008

...for a five second piece...

What I mean by that is it's pretty repetitive, and the thirty seconds seem to be made up of the same thing over and over and over again. It's a good loop so far, but seems unfinished...mix it up a bit & add a little more to it, and this would be great.

Author's Response:

it is a 16 bar loop, looped 2 times, i changed the back synth up a fair bit. thanks for the review.

Ambient Shadow

"Pretty good"

submission: Ambient Shadow
date: December 6, 2008

It's just a little predictable and repetitive. With two minutes, the song should go somewhere...I was waiting for a part B that never came. By "part B" I mean a part with a different melody and rhythm, like a chorus in a regular song.

I'd also like to hear the piano a bit more.

Good work otherwise ^_^

Author's Response:

Thanks for the response! I had been trying to come up with a faster, more melodic piano for a chorus, but I could not come up with a working one. I might remake this as an actual song, and not a loop.

(Quasi-8 Bit) I Confide

"Ooh"

date: December 6, 2008

Really nice. Doesn't sound exactly 8 bit but more so than some of the attempts others have made (Oh, I see you mention this in your comments).

This reminds me of a game I played a long time ago but I can't think of it...ah well. Great stuff.

December 6, 2008

Author's Response:

Thanks dude. Yeah I wanted to make sure it was absolutely 100% clear that this isn't *truly* 8 bit and neither is anything else I do at the moment.

BTDD - Roper's Rally (Stage 3)

"I like it"

date: December 6, 2008

It's a nice beat with some unorthodox drum riffs. I'd like to hear the drums in the background earlier on, but they do fade a little bit to give way for the piano-ish sound. Definitely a lot of atmosphere.

Very nice work. ^_^

"Very, very nice"

date: December 6, 2008

I really like what you've done here. The synth-guitar-ish sound with the piano definitely works, and the synth pad that comes in near the middle and lasts the rest of the song is the icing on the cake.

Excellent piece. Keep 'em coming.

=O I just now heard the fast ending part of the song. You just got your ninth star XD
