Ooh

Really nice. Doesn't sound exactly 8 bit but more so than some of the attempts others have made (Oh, I see you mention this in your comments).

This reminds me of a game I played a long time ago but I can't think of it...ah well. Great stuff.

midimachine responds:

Thanks dude. Yeah I wanted to make sure it was absolutely 100% clear that this isn't *truly* 8 bit and neither is anything else I do at the moment.

I like it

It's a nice beat with some unorthodox drum riffs. I'd like to hear the drums in the background earlier on, but they do fade a little bit to give way for the piano-ish sound. Definitely a lot of atmosphere.

Very nice work. ^_^

saintedix responds:

Thanks soul, appreciate the comments.

Nice

Good one there.

The drum loop is pretty great, haven't heard much like it. I do have a few suggestions for it, though.

1) Lower them a little. Right now I think they take over a bit.
2) Vary them at least at some point. Make a filler, change it up when you switch parts, etc. Something to make them less predictable.

Other than that, it's a great piece. Good work. =D

DJ-Zoysa responds:

thanks! this is made a year ago, im better know ;P

yes i agree the drums are very overpowering and definitely could use with some variation and depth, it's a bit monotonous

xD thanks for the review!

Great base

It should just be mixed a bit differently. The piano is more important than the high symbol and therefore should be louder than it IMO. Right now the drums seem to overtake it.

I'd really like to hear this piece again with those issues address, it should turn out great. ^_^

sharpapotheosis responds:

Yeah... i agree, but it's all fixed now.
Cheers

Nice work

Not a bad piece, pretty cool in fact. Great bass, love the piano/synth-ish instrument.

I just wish the piece had some more changes in melody, etc. Even an ambient piece, if it's going to be that long, should be differentiated at least a bit. For 2:00+, 2 different parts just doesn't seem like enough.

mattdestroyerlinch12 responds:

Thankyou for your sympathy :D, i did'nt have alot of time to finish it b'cause i was using a demo software, which could'nt save my progress. I will try to make something better next time.

Not bad

Pretty darn good for a twenty second piece. It would certainly serve it's purpose in a flash/game/etc...

Reeez responds:

thank you for reviewing ... it's so short because a friend needed an intro theme... so I made this...

Don't touch the drums

They are great. And THANK you for putting some variety, and even including a repeated theme, that's something a lot of people are forgetting to do. ^_^

I'm really really liking this song, great work.

zenodio responds:

Thanks man :D I also forget the varity many times.... This is one of the few times i actually remembered it.... Thanks again man :D

Very nice

Nice and peaceful, sounds like a lullaby in a movie. If you're going to have it 5 minutes long, though, it might use a bit more variety later on...other than that, it's really really good.

Semaphore responds:

thank you very much SoulRed12

it has 4 parts and contain 20 instruments

it's a song to think =)

Interesting

Interesting adaptation.

Would have liked to hear it get a little faster and upbeat at some point.

TenchuX responds:

Yeah this was just a basic song from 5 years ago when I literally just started music on the computer. This is my worst song in my profile next to To The Dark Side, however I put ths ancient song up because a few people might enjoy it... I never expected Technotic Butterfly to be my biggest hit song so you never know lol.

Needs more

Needs more substance. For a passing song in an rpg, it's not bad though, just a little simple on an absolute scale. Reminds me of Jazz Jackrabbit for some reason. Haha.

BIGraw responds:

Lol!
I just made this, so I will working on it in the future.
Thank you for your review, I really appreciate it! ;)

I write music, mostly downtempo and soundtrack. Someday I hope to write music for film and video games.
